So its Sunday and I am having some "me and HIM" time, learning as usual to listening to the Lord and where I am in the big plan. Picture is just me sitting on my balony. Then it was working on the computer, getting ready for the day.

So I am settling quite nicely into my role. Some good news, Maria finally arrived. There she is with Samantha, my white daughter as the local Rwandans call her, this Sunday morning enjoying their new found friendship. And they have the northeastern connection of small college relationship. Both also have the deep Rwandan roots.

I am getting ready to make progress on my interview research. We are trying to make changes in the obstetric unit to improve care. I also started my Fulbright teaching by teaching non physician anesthetists. It was so much fun and we were quite engaged.

Rwanda is surprisingly chilly at night. Temperature drops to 60s. Hearing that, i am sure my north carolinian friend would strangle me with temperatures being in the 20s and 30s there. Haha..

On the home front, mama is doing well in England. How do I know? She is complaining about her old iphone 4 and wants to get a new one. Good for her. And Tomiwa our son, got his second job even though he has not finished college. I am a Proud father. Not only will I not have to pay college fees, he may actually give his dad money to show appreciation. That is our African culture. I informed him of this but he doesn’t seem to understand or want to embrace this culture. I wonder why!!

Some OB senior residents having some talk about some case. Really great residents. The future of Rwanda is bright. Adolphe and Essien and co...

I had the privilege to be invited to the annual Obstetric association. They have approximately 60 members in the whole of Rwanda. This was their new year bash. I was invited because I am an obstetric anesthesiologist and was the only anesthesiologist invited. Really nice of them.

One of those moments. Isn’t she adorable?

We fulbrighters finally met for dinner. Really makes me realise the impact of fulbrighters all over th eworld hearing my fellow colleagues talk of their experience and impact. One can say the extension of the American reach remains unabated. First picture is us in Washington DC meeting each other for the first time and second picture is in Kigali last week having some downtime with each other comparing experience notes (picture not clear, will upload a better one.)
