Obviously, when you travel with some style, it does help. As a diamond status individual, you get upgrades to fly first class sometimes. Nice! I always boast its the Duke Shirt I wear. My darling wife says I have sold my soul to delta.

Funny but true. However, its been of mutual benefit. I cannnot recall the number of benefits I have obtained from being loyal. I havent forgotten Contacting the Vice president of Delta Cargo who freely shipped about 10 massive boxes of equipment to Ghana for me. I cannot forget the many excess suitcases I travel with without penalty. I cannot remember the last time I flew in economy class within the USA. And of course, how can I forget my "delta girls"...Susan and Shelby.....let me tell you a small story. I am in Ghana and i get a frantic call from Tomiwa my son. He is traveling to Kenya and realised at the airport counter his passport has expired. There is a mad rush to get another passport from home and when he returns to the counter, the line is long and it is obvious he is likely to miss the international flight. I told him to ask for Susan. Not only did Susan say to me over the phone, "I will get him to the plane"; she rushed him through the security and took him straight into the plane. Nice to have friends in "high"places, eh?
